Resonance

A place for artist to share and learn

On a daily basis, I can’t seem to shake feelings of being an imposter. What’s this thing that is art-making? “what’s the point?” ringing louder and louder with every rejection and page of shitty sides.

One evening, I found myself pouring out to my mother that “I’m genuinely beginning to think I’m not cut out for this,” snot streaming into my mashed potatoes.

My mother gently, suggested “Have you considered you aren’t the only one feeling this way?”

The Plan

self

love

Once a month. We come together. We take turns speaking uninterrupted about what’s been showing up for us in the loose realm of art-making. We listen.

Sessions will last a maximum of 2 hours, with that time divided equally among the number of people present that day. Time permitting, or as needed, we may conclude sessions with “crosstalk”-an opportunity to respond and engage in dialogue.

The expectation is that everyone will be present for the entire duration of the meeting.

The goal is to completely eliminate hierarchy. There is no leader. There is only a timekeeper, and that role is redistributed at random every session

The maximum number of people per session is 30, sign-ups occurring on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • “So it’s basically a support group?” Yep.

  • Have you considered you're probably not the only one feeling this way?

  • Every age, medium, history, gender, background, is welcome.

  • If you think for even a millisecond you might be interested, this is the place for you.

  • Consider showing up as an investment in others just as much (or even more) than for yourself.
